ABDULMUMINI JIBRIN SURPISES NIGERIANS WITH MILLIONS IN A PHOTO-CAPTIONING COMPETITION, CANVASSES SUPPORT FOR AILING PRESIDENT.

Appreciating an illustration of President Muhammadu Buhari, embattled lawmaker, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, on Wednesday announced decision to reward 10 internet users with N100,000 each on Instagram and 10 more on Facebook. Winners are internet users able to come up with the best descriptions of the unsigned illustration of President Buhari and wife, Aisha, enjoying a meal while their two children, Zahrah and Yusuf, eavesdrop.

For the Instagram version, the lawmaker announced @mareeyaama and @jag_baba as judges, while Maryam Shetty and Liberty Badmus selected winners on Facebook private messages, and Abdulaziz Bin Abdulaziz as the judge of public entries on Facebook.

"The selectors used various criteria that give deeper interpretation of the sketch from various angles," said the lawmaker, revealing that 800 entires were received at the close of submissions.

The winners, on Instagram, are: @okoye_chidiebere, @tunabanny, @fran6.freespring, @hindu_amin, @teemah_writes, @don_lete, @ameenatu_s, and @horlahmeeworship, while the winners of Facebook category are Sadeeya Kakangi, Miriam-Barbra Onwus, Cmr Nasir illiyasu Kinkinau, Lawal Mohammed Sani, Junaid Muhammad U. Sharfadi, Bashir Ag Bello, Salamatu Musa Dembe, Alumona Obinna, Aisha Dahiru, Balogun Idowu Bima, Chamsuddeen Chareef Yusuf  and Idoko Isaac Junior.

The illustrator, according to the lawmaker, will also smile home with a cash gift. "While the entries were going on, I commenced the search for the guy who did the sketch.

“This was also interesting as many fake people came up to claim it, perhaps because of the reward I promised but the real owner emerged with the help of an Instagram user.

"He presented proofs and also sent me the original sketch which I am using for this post. It is the work of a US based Ghanaian artist, Kwadwo Bediako, who is the founder “PenciledCelebrities”.

The Twitter category came with a different criterion, with a price tag of N250,000 for winners. "I have a handsome reward for who ever gets the 1000 retweets, tweeted the lawmaker. This set the microblogging site on a frenzy as users including the popular lawyer and public affairs, @AminuGamawa who offered to "donate the money towards girl-education in northern Nigeria," canvassed for retweets to emerge as winners. The price tag was later increased to 1million make a with 10 winners going home with 100k each.

Revealing his reason for the show of generosity, Hon. Jibrin tweeted, "The whole idea is to use this beautiful family sketch to promote the good qualities and work of President Muhammad Buhari."

"We urge all the winners to use their money in the best possible way. The spirit of ramadan has continued to encourage more generosity in us."
